“It was so cool (Dick Clark)”/ 2015

It was so cool that Dick Clark enjoyed so many new year's eves.jpg

Gavin writes:

IT WAS SO COOL THAT *DICK CLARK ENJOYED HOSTING SO MANY ROCKIN’ NEW YEARS EVES SPECIALS FROM NEW YEARS ROCKIN’ EVE ’75 TO NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE ’13

(Note: Dick Clark actually hosted from ’76 to ’12, not from ’75 to ’13, but Gavin “fictionalizes” everything he likes as beginning a year earlier and ending a year later.)

Courier, curated by Corinna Schaming, brings together a range of contemporary artists who have created works that are rooted in the physical, communicative, or iconic properties of the typewriter. From emblematic homage to pointed social critique, the works selected for this exhibition demonstrate that despite its obsolete status, the typewriter remains a potent carrier of untapped ideas.” Documented by a 60-page, fully illustrated catalogue featuring an essay by James Siena.
